Assist with all aspects of excellent service in catering to provide high quality food and service in a cost-effective manner.
Assist in pulling equipment lists for banquet event order sheets.
Meet with management team to understand the nuances of each event assigned
Ensure sanitation practices are followed such as temperature control monitoring and food handling and the cleanliness of kitchen, work areas and delivery vehicle
Prepare food, drinks and function equipment; provide front of the house service as required
Load, transport, set up and break down functions to multiple venues; set linens and table settings for service events
Serve on onsite waitstaff when needed for china service events
Provide work direction to student employees
Take inventory as needed and follow first in first out rule when prepping food and events
Operate dish machine and wash pots and pans as necessary on and off site
Represent the College in a professional manner when interacting with customers
Advise manager of customer feedback received at events or while on deliveries and monitor food usage and event flow to improve existing systems
Label foods paying close attention to allergy causing food ingredients such as nuts.
1. High school education and 1 year of food service experience
2. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
3. Ability to work a flexible schedule
4. Good communication and customer service skills
5. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
6. Ability to read work orders, write requests for supplies and perform basic math calculations
7. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle loading and unloading carts and vehicles safely; transport food, equipment and supplies
8. Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment
9. Have basic knowledge of safety and sanitation rules
