Hire, train, supervise and evaluate full-time, part-time and student employees in the set-up and tear-down of catered functions, as well as execution and supervision of said events, in the Bolger Conference Center, other campus buildings and off-campus sites.
A Food Service Supervisor 1 must establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees. Throughout the work shift, the supervisor is responsible for enforcing Dining Service policies and procedures by working with and supervising cooks, food service workers, student managers and student workers. Supervision includes assigning work and following up to ensure work is completed on time and according to operational standards.

Required Qualifications:
Three years experience in food production or service OR any equivalent combination of experience in an institutional setting and course work in food production, food service or a related field.
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated evidence of ability to:
plan, coordinate, and direct multiple functions in food preparation.
supervise, train, and evaluate.
perform inventory control.
perform basic math.
maintain food safety and health standards.
operate computer cash register.
lift up to 40 lbs.
stand for long periods of time.
perform basic PC skills.
follow basic dress code and hygiene standards set by University Dining.
read and understand basic recipes and reports used in the food service operation.
work safely with basic food service equipment such as knives, slicers, and mixers.
learn and follow proper methods of sanitation.

Effective oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior restaurant or school/university supervisory experience.
Prior experience in school/university food service.
