Job Description:
Dome Catering is seeking talented Culinary Staff to work as needed for events at the Dome for the 2024-2025 season. Must be reliable and able to work many of the major events such as SU Football, SU Basketball, and Concerts. Shifts take place on nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and/or GED highly preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques and procedures equivalent to 1-2 years of formal food service training or equivalent work experience is necessary.
The ability to read, write, count, and follow instructions.
Must have good organizational skills and previous experience directing and assigning work to support staff.
Reliable transportation is a must, buses may not run late enough for some shifts.
Follow instructions and established procedures to perform duties.
Excellent Customer service.
Be able to work on your feet for the duration of a shift.
Responsibilities:
Exercise some judgment to follow recipes and general instructions.
Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation and customer service.
Use judgment to determine quantity of food prepared and time schedule so that all items are ready for serving on schedule.
Obtain ingredients and supplies from storeroom.
Prepare food for various catered functions such as dinner, luncheons, banquets, and receptions.
Prepare and cook a wide variety of ordinary and fancy foods including all kinds of meat, fowl, seafood, soups, gravies, salads, fruits, vegetables, desserts, etc. for small functions and assist head cook for large functions.
Prepare and cook meat, vegetables, gravy, meatballs. Slice and trim meat, bone turkey, slice cheese and cold cuts.
