Job DescriptionLead Catering Staff
Basic Function and Responsibility:
Supervises, coordinates, anddelivers service for on- and off-site catered events, including bar service andpremier service, such as in the President's Dining Room. Provides a timely and professional responseto the needs of the customers. Moderately heavy lifting is necessary.
Characteristic Duties:
-Performs functions of a catering waitstaff andbartender for service of cocktails and meals to a catered events for highprofile clientele (i.e., set tables, make cocktails, serve clients, side work,post event breakdown and clean up, and resetting of dining area).
-Must be familiar with andproficient with multiple styles of service.
-Maintains and monitors equipment inventory (china,flatware, glassware, utensils, etc.) and recommends replacement or repair asneeded.
-Performs cleaning, safety,and sanitation functions.
-Works flexible andever-changing event schedule, including evenings and weekends.
-Demonstrates knowledge of superb customer service andetiquette. Able to continually learn andpass on service knowledge to other team members.
-Assists with planning,packing, delivery, and set up of events.
-Must have an authorizedalcohol service certificate.
-Proficient at cocktailproduction with accuracy but have minimal use of written recipes in public.
-Trains students, temps, andon-call staff to Boston College levels of service.
-Demonstrates high degree of professional decorum andprovide service to high profile guests which may require confidentiality.
-Performs other relatedduties as assigned.

Reports to Catering Managers.

Assist in monitoring work ofstudent, temporary, and on-call waitstaff or bartenders or other temporarystaff.
$25-28/hour
RequirementsQualifications:
Education: High schooldiploma required. Must understand allaspects of white glove banquet service. NRA ServSafe alcohol certification and MRA Allergen certificationrequired.
Experience: 3-5years of high-level table service in a fine dining or catering environment orluxury hotel; Must be minimum 21 years of age
Skills: Must be fluent in speaking andreading English. Must have excellenthuman relation and interpersonal skills. Must have very good organizational skills and able to work in fast pacedenvironment. Must be able to liftmoderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. on an on-going basis. Must have good driving record. Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver'slicense and be capable of driving up to a 25-foot fixed axle truck.
