Job Summary/Basic Function:
As a key member within the division of Student Affairs, the Director of University Dining and Catering Services at Millersville University of PA is responsible for the strategic direction, administration, and management of all dining and catering operations at the university. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs for Operations, this position ensures the provision of high-quality, nutritious, and diverse food options while maintaining exceptional service standards. The role encompasses supervision of a dedicated staff; oversight of student dining hall; retail dining including Chick fil A, Starbucks, Anchor, the student operated Evergreen Café; bakery operations, and a robust catering services for both internal and external events. The Director will work closely with university leadership, staff, and students to enhance the dining experience and support the university's mission and goals. Using best practices, the director must have vision of a university community dining environment and the experience to operationalize this with creativity and innovation.

Annual Salary: $115,000.00, plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, Nutrition, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in dining services, food service management, or hospitality, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Demonstrated experience of work focused on the needs students.
Ability to drive change and implement innovative solutions to enhance dining services.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Experience with using assessment for improving dining services' experience.
Experience with financial acumen and budget management skills.
Demonstrated understanding of customers' dietary, including but not limited to nutrition, religious and cultural, and ADA requirements.
Experience with brand and identity marketing of dining service program.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and food service management software.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Successful interview.
Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a union environment.
Prior professional work experience in higher education.
Involvement with National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS).
Bilingual.
Essential Functions:
Working Conditions and Physical Effort – (Essential Functions)
Limited exposure to physical risks.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, however ability to move between multiple campus venues/locations throughout the day.
Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 25 pounds.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, as well as handling kitchen equipment for inspections and demonstration.
Use computer for email, obtain information on websites, prepare class documents, grade papers, submit final grades online and other duties related to teaching and advising students and serving the department, college, university and community.
Writing skills necessary to prepare and organize complex documents.
Higher-level statistics/mathematic skills.
Visual and Auditory skills, ability to read and interpret documents, menus, and financial reports and effective communication skills to listen and respond to staff, customers, and stakeholders.
