Job Summary
An experienced Director of Catering & Event Operations is required for this high-profile role with one of the top 10 largest employers in the world. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas and energy with the ability to develop a national sales and catering program. Previous experience in corporate, film, and entertainment event planning preferred. To be successful, an individual that is service-minded and knows how to run high frequency large catering and event operations nationally is necessary. The ability to partner well with colleagues and various stakeholders is key.
Skills:

5+ years of catering sales and event experience, 2+ years in a Director role

Possess a proactive eye for business with experience in high-growth organizations

Hardworking, energetic, persuasive, driven, and outgoing personality

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Must be entrepreneurial in nature and self-motivated

Key Responsibilities:

Hires, trains and develops managers, and is actively involved in the development of service techniques, menu presentation, policies and procedures

Builds and maintains relationships with location partner teams to jointly secure and maximize catering opportunities

Partners with location leadership to identify opportunities to grow revenue via sales trends, strategic menu development, and creative, new opportunities to expand catering revenue opportunities

Works closely with the building partner to identify new opportunities and areas for collaboration

Completes annual group sales review to identify strengths and opportunities for the future

Completes annual competitor analysis within the market to optimize menu offerings

Negotiates with clients through the use of creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals, to achieve both maximum revenue/profit potential and fulfillment of contractual responsibilities while satisfying client needs

Works closely with the culinary and operations team to develop menus and staffing bids to "WOW" clients and guests while simultaneously maintaining operational feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and event appropriateness for venue facilities

Manages client relationships to set expectations and drive positive event experience
Qualifications:

Hospitality or bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience working on major events is preferred

High level of computer literacy

Passion for hospitality, food, and retail

Available for a minimum of 25% travel
