The Coordinator will assist with planning and executing highly visible strategic-event based experiences targeted at a variety of audiences including alumni, donors, volunteers, local community, business leaders and the campus community. The Coordinator will design events that build a culture of engagement, lifelong relationships and philanthropy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Works with Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement leadership to establish strategic event goals. • Prepares annual event plans with short and long-range milestones to meet institutional objectives. • Prepares and adheres to event budgets. • Implements systems and procedures for events management. • Employs persuasive recruiting techniques to enlist volunteers to serve on event committees (e.g. faculty and staff, alumni and friends). • Creates, tracks and manages each assigned event using Raiser’s Edge Database and RE Event Module. RE is the primary tool used by the Development team almost daily to manage (and measure) our events, fundraising efforts, alumni, donor, and gift records. • Manages and thoughtfully engage volunteer committee members. • Makes specific arrangements essential to event production both on and off campus, including venue, menu, entertainment, seating/table assignments, nametags, transportation, awards, gifts and décor. • Promotes robust attendance by maintaining and updating invitation lists (using Raiser’s Edge), producing creative invitations, and coordinating publicity and promotion. • Recommends actions to promote the fundraising success of benefit events. • May be tasked to assist other College departments in preparing for events that relate to or influence Development. Specific Events • Annual Golf Classic to benefit athletic scholarships • Annual Spring into Student Success scholarship benefit • Annual 9/11 Commemoration event • Assist with Scholarship Stewardship events • Assist with prospect cultivation events planned in concert with alumni & fundraising staff • Assist with occasional assigned events coordinated through the President’s Office II. Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (RE) database experience preferred. III. Supervisory Responsibilities • No direct staff supervisory responsibilities. • May coordinate student workers and contractors if needed for specific events. |
