The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Program Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs position. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. The Coordinator is central to creating and promoting a welcoming campus climate at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing educational outreach and programmatic initiatives to address the needs and contribute to the success and persistence of African-American students. Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment of prospective students, implementing and managing programs, events and services that include but are not limited to heritage themed programs, academic/personal development events, co-facilitation of the Inclusive Impact classroom education series and community outreach. Coordination of specific programs will include: Sister Circle student organization, Men of Color Collaborative student organization and PATH, a semester long transition program to support new students’ transition with academic, personal and social components of college success.

The Coordinator will also assist with the planning and implementation of events and activities designed to promote student engagement and involvement more broadly. 

Responsibilities 

•  Event planning and coordination of campus-wide events including Fall Involvement Expo, Homecoming and Spring Fling. 

Responsibilities of this position will be allocated as follows:

• 60% - Multicultural Affairs Support
• 30% - Student Life Event Coordination
• 10% - Campus and Community Involvement

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience; OR associate degree with 3 years experience; OR 5 years experience
• Experience must be in program coordination.

Ideal Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Ethnic/Cultural Studies, Counseling or a related/similar field and significant professional experience in working with college students.
• Demonstrated experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse students or populations preferably in a college or university setting
• Knowledge of barriers facing the African-American community
• Ability to create partnerships at the College and University as well as with surrounding local communities
• Demonstrated program/event planning and management experience
• Builidng a collaborative and team approach
• Inovative approach to Student Activities coordination and facilitation
• Comfortable with the use of technology including Microsoft Office applications and social media.
