For more information, please visit https://www.mills.edu/ Job Description: The Mills College Lesson Study Group, within the School of Education, studies and supports the adaptation of Lesson Study to U.S. Schools. Lesson Study is the major form of on-the-job learning by teachers in Japan, and involves collaborative design and observation of actual classroom lessons. Since 1999, the Lesson Study Groups research team has conducted studies on lesson study in U.S. settings, including schools, districts and pre-service education. Our research and program activities are dedicated to improving U.S. schools. Support for the research comes from both federal and private agencies. The Lesson Study Group will also be hosting and managing the World Association of Lesson Studys Annual Conference (WALS) in San Francisco in December 2020. Representative Duties The Administrative Assistant/Event Coordinator will work with the Senior Research Associate to provide a high level of administrative support and office management for the Lesson Study Group. Typical duties include but are not limited to the following: Requirements: Knowledge and Skills: Education and Experience: Additional Information: This is a full-time, non-exempt] position with an FTE of 1.0. Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with college-matching after 6 month qualifying period, 10 days of vacation for year one, 15 days of vacation for years 2-10, and 22 days of vacation years 10+ plus, 12 sick days and 17 paid holidays (subject to annual review).
