These use permits result in citizens gaining access to beautiful and attractive spaces for public and private uses. Seattle Parks and Recreation issues about 6,700 outdoor\indoor park use permits every year for festivals, tournaments, sports, charity events, park events, weddings, ceremonies, picnics, filming, and many other activities that help build community, encourage interaction of diverse communities and enrich our residents' lives. SPR is seeking a creative and motivated individual to take a lead role in the Event Scheduling Office. This individual needs to possess the ability to work closely and supportively with community groups and partners, helping them succeed while also holding them accountable to permitted conditions. In addition, this individual needs the skills to manage and implement existing programs and processes, seek out new opportunities, and develop new and creative solutions to increase access to the variety of services that we offer to traditionally underserved communities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced/dynamic work environment, and the capacity to embrace the multiple needs and interests of our parks with diplomacy and a can-do approach. The position reports to the Event Scheduling manager in the Enterprise and Partnerships in Community Division.
Minimum Qualifications: Three years of professional experience in event servicing, facility management or personnel supervision, and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Recreation or related field (or a combination of four years of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background to perform the work required).
Desired Qualifications: Two years' experience working with community-based partners. Two years' experience supervising others. Four years' experience in customer service based work Certified Park and Recreation Professional Certification

SPR manages a 6,414-acre park system of over 485 parks and extensive natural areas. SPR ...provides athletic fields, tennis courts, play areas, specialty gardens, and more than 25 miles of boulevards and 120 miles of trails. The system comprises about 12% of the city's land area. SPR also manages many facilities, including 26 community centers, eight indoor swimming pools, two outdoor (summer) swimming pools, four environmental education centers, two small craft centers, four golf courses, an outdoor stadium, and much more.
