Iowa State University Dining is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager Food Services I position. This position is responsible for all catering events and bar/beverage service in the Iowa State University Memorial Union and for off-site caterings under the guidance of ISU Dining, and is the point of contact for high profile university events. The manager is responsible for reviewing customer and production forecasting, operational budgeting, production planning and scheduling, and providing input for departmental decisions regarding operating policies, procedures and planning. Additionally, the manager participates in the development of catering menus, bakery menus, special event menus, banquet menus, and menu policies, and is responsible for the supervision of the Catering Assistant Managers and over 100 student employees.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and have strong interpersonal skills. The successful individual will possess comprehensive knowledge of foods and the effect of handling and cooking, especially in large volume production, and have the ability to plan for the production of high profile events, special events, and fine dining.
